That bit l think l have my head around. Its the cog which engages the motor, how does that connect to the 'long' cog, which the in turn, turns the firing mechanism.
Thanks for your patience.

Actually, I'd really like to try some scrumpy. 8)

I've been playing with these things about 7 years now, and right at the start I picked up this habit, whenever I ordered something from Imex I'd also get an airsoft unit or a smoker. I tried to always have at least one of each in stock, and the airsoft units have gotten much better and actually dropped in price a few cents, to under ten bucks, while a smoker is only about 12. Having new ones on hand can eliminate a LOT of frustration, so it's a practice I carry on with to this day. In fact, I've got 2 brand new airsoft units on the shelf right now, just stop buy and pick one up. @) @) :haha: :haha: 8) 8)

And you really should go to your profile and add your location, at least what continent you're on. It makes a huge difference in who might be best suited to help you. 8)

From your "speech" I'm guessing you're in the UK, so Dave at forgebear should be able to set you up with a new unit. Not sure if there's a price difference between UK and US so if you get one let me know what it sets you back, K? 8)

Brilliant and helpful contribution, Gary
Yes, he's down in Wiltshire, along with Stonehenge. In fact, he's also conveniently placed for trips down to Bovington  Lucky sod. Still, I've got better views up here.
As for the Scrumpy, I once had some lethal stuff on a visit to the West Country (loosely, that's: Wiltshire, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall). It was like sweet apple-scented battery acid. Local legend had it that the brew I tried 'could eat its way out of wooden casks', and could dissolve your teeth overnight. :haha: I learned pretty quickly that I was bred for whisky, not this celebrated gut-rot  :D
The French, however, make quite a nice brandy out of cider: Calvados. Now, that's just about bearable.

Way way back when l was a mere youngster the family went to Butlins Minehead where a couple of staff ran a weekly run to a local scrumpy supplier. They owned an old AA motor bike and sidecar, the side car looking like a coffin but was the AA man's tool chest. It had been sealed so it could be filled with liqueur and on the Wednesday evening you could buy their very strong scrumpy.

Yes, in between endless female experiences (these were all free at Butlins) l tried the scrumpy. I am very sorry to admit l can't remember if it was any good or not. Or anything else. So maybe it was!
