I also think that a number of people don't enter because they don't think their models are good enough.

To be fair, we don't really have 6000 ish members, at least a quarter have been banned as spammers. Probably another quarter have never posted a single post. And probably another quarter have stopped visiting the forum. Leaving approximately 1500 active members, a lot of which hardly ever visit, or post.
In fact of the 6000, only 1000 have more than 10 posts. There are relatively few really active members of the forum.

Show off is more popular, perhaps its because they are not competing against TOTM tanks that sometimes have more than one person involved in the build. I don't do Show off or TOTM as people can look at my builds if they want to, some like to wait until the tank is complete then put some pics in Show off.

It's just about personal preferences, you're not alone with how you feel. And like I said, we have a lot of sections/categories that aren't to everyone's tastes, but we cater for the variety of tastes within our membership.

When I took on the role of TOTM admin, I knew it wasn't as popular as things like Show Off etc, but it has its fans, I was undecided whether I wanted to get involved, and told one of the admin that if no-one steps forward, I'll do it rather than lose it, and as no-one else stepped forward I got the role by default.

And as a TOTM fan myself, like others, I'm always grateful towards those that want to take part, and like the submitters, I'm always grateful of those that take the time to vote.

@ Mr SilverSurfer, so, only a thousand over ten posts, I wonder how many of those still visit the forum? I was only loosely guessing on the numbers, your data lowers the active members numbers even more.

If you only count guys that visit this forum at least twice a week I'll bet we have less than 200 members, but what we lack in quantity we make up for with quality. 8) :haha:

My thinking too Max. However, there are l'm sure many more who pop in for a read every now and then. Either way, l think this forum supports our hobby really well. We are never lost for an answer!

There is nothing to stop you from voting in the same month you submit. You can always vote for someone else's vehicle!
