The spherical section is the mounting, the traverse is kind of like a HL elevation motor on its side pressing the gun against a spring and the elevation is a wheel with a peg that engages a slot on the side of the gun. Kind of difficult to describe without a piccy, but obvious when you open it up
As for recoil, I'm not sure how you can seperate the main barrel from the rest of the assembly

Did they recoil in real life?

Dont think they recoiled, the holes around the muzzle will allow gases to escape

No recoil in real life im using the top hull to make the fictional Sturmtiger II tank destroyer so was wondering what the in sides look like thinking could use some of it .

Will see how it works looks like my Sturmtiger is in UPS limbo tracking only shows picked up date was to be here Fri Phil is checking out with UPS why they think it will show up by Monday .

Hi battle front models do some very good stowage shells & crates that would go well with your Sturmtiger I never new that there was some movement its nice to know thanks I have the camo version but I would love a winter one as well

Mine when I finely get it will be turned in to a Sturmtiger II fictional sturmtiger converted to tank destroyer will have recoil .
