Some help for a lazy guy

Hi, Lazy Guy,
I took this pic at the Deutsche Panzermuseum, Munster, back in 2018 (it was safe to breathe the air in those days, when in company). Anyway, Gary, I hope this will help you to get the scale of the cross symbol about right.
I took a few more pics of this Hetzer; but none highlighting the markings.

Thanks, Roy, that should help. Those idler Wheels surprise me, I knew they had 4 vent and 6 vent but this is the first time I've seen 8 vent. That's one of the inaccuracies on my tank, I have the 4 vent but should have the six vent.

As I’ve read on here somewhere before, be careful using using museum restorations as a modeling guide. Sometimes they get it wrong or outsource an incorrect part. Just sayin’.

I think the idler is accurate on that museum piece. Take a look at gunners photo. Notice 8 vent idler

Yes, you are absolutelly right. As an example, most of Panzer III and IVs in museums all around the world have the tracks the wrong way. If they cannot do that right, imagine the paint and emblems.

When you consider that the Hetzer is based on a Czech 38(t) hull the number of "Vents" in its idlers become even more of a surprise because the 38(t) has 16 holes in the idler whereas so far I have counted either 6 or 8 on the Hetzer

Yes, and we've seen the wrong tread plate patterns used in restoration on those panzers, even tread plates used to replace front fenders where there's no historic photographic evidence of fenders being made out of tread plate. And Sherman Michael doesn't have the original short 75 barrel with the counterweight on the end. Just to mention a few discrepancies.
