i would be to drunk to do any spraying, i gave it a try with water and it worked fine

Ive been thinning acrylic paint (Tamiya, Games Workshop, Humbrol etc) with tap water for many years and never had any problems. Also found the best thing to clean an airbrush is cellulose thinners. Halfords sell huge pint sized cans of it for about £6.50, much cheaper than model shops and will strip dried on acrylic in seconds! It'll also dissolve plastic just as quickly though so be warned and dont use it for thinning the paint.

It might be worth shopping around the motor factors Halfords are very expensive in my area it might be an idea to check out motor world or an independent shop

If you have any o-rings/seals in your AB, then beware of cellulose thinners and any other solvents because eventually they will perish.

I usually buy Cellulose thinners by the gallon for around £8 as crispy says is very good for cleaning things and far cheaper than Badger air brush cleaner, as for thining Tamiya paint I have used Tamiya thinners, water and alcohol in the past but mainly Tamiya thinners and over the years I have spoke to ad read many experts advise on the subject whom all seam to have there own ratios as what works also what works for one man with a particular type of air brush wont work for another with a different air brush, best thing is see what works best for your type of work and use what people say as a guide as opposed to the rule

thanks for the feedback lads i dont think ill use cellulose for cleaning on mine as it has o rings inside and i might stick to useing water for thinning havent had any problems yet

Don't forget their are several great post in the painting and weathering board on cleaning your airbrush and changing colors quickly posted by Steiner that have been very helpful to me as I'm new to the airbrush techniques.

My airbrush and compressor are still in there boxes I haven't had the corage to try them yet

my airbrush is working fine useing water with acylics have finished the dark yellow im ready to do a dark green camo on my jp hope i dont mess it up i was thinking of marking out the camo with a pencil first so i know where im going what do you think
