Afrikakorps wrote:Hi Guys, just been looking for info on the colour of a king tiger convoy light. Some sources say blue but other sources say green. The only existing pics I can see appear to show it as green. Does anyone have a definite answer?
Thanks

It is indeed green however it also has red and orange

Late war tubular Convoy lights like the one on the King tiger have it all in one. The middle light being red and the other 4 being green

Thank you for your quick replies.
Some of the pics I have already seen, so I was thinking that green was correct. However I have seen blue lights on some RC tanks and was a bit unsure.
I can now continue to put a working convoy light on the back of my Taigen king tiger.
Cheers

The colour of German military rear Convoy lights is a question that was on the Forum when I first signed up and periodically the question is raised with the regularity of the cuckoo and just as there did not appear to be a definitive source in 2012 the truth to date is still illusory with someone offering the definitive answer only to face rebuttal from a yet more certain historical source and so the roundabout continues.
In truth I never did understand why the German Army decided on blue or green,Post WW 2 I was quite happy following British Military vehicles with white convoy lights,
German Military vehicles in common with other NATO vehicles post WW2 showed a shielded white light to the rear.
To confuse matters even more as my military career was drawing to a close most vehicles were being fitted with I/R lighting so the colour of the convoy lights became moot.

Hello,
indeed it is a complex subject, I read somewhere, that the singification of the color seen? was depending on whether the next one was too close, too far, or Positioned? after remains the definition of Wikipedia

That Tiger looks to be in pretty good condition. Any idea where it originated from?
