Taigen panther G to A conversion (wip) and questions
Re: Taigen panther G to A conversion (wip) and questions
Nice tank. I’m also a newbie but I also love Taigen tanks. I have their Tiger 1 with the metal hull and torsion bar suspension and the Leopard 2 with same. They say that you can tune the suspension by using pliers to put added twist or less twist on the torsion bars to stiffen or soften the ride height.

You need to slacken the clamp first - see my post above.

Cheers, I reckon once the suspension has been adjusted the skirts "should" line up with the tops of the wheels.HERMAN BIX wrote:That’s a lovely ‘A’ mate. The skirts do look a bit short( I mean would you allow your Daughter out wearing that) kind of short!!!!
Allowances will need to be made for the suspension being not quite right, but it’s a mobile model rather than a static replica.
Magnificent job on the swept lines of this Panther, would love to have seen the entire process step by step
In terms of the construction process I mostly followed : dgsselkirk's conversion but added 3d printed parts from shapeways.

Thanks, the suspension looks tight because I over adjusted it in the first place. I'll get it sorted asap.General Jumbo01 wrote:You need to slacken the clamp first - see my post above.

That Zimmerit you used, was it the Tamiya set by Aber ?
I have a need for this exact pattern, with inner lower hull coverage.

Re: Taigen panther G to A conversion (wip) and questions
As long as the pattern is right and the set has sufficient to also cover the lower hull I’d be happyEastern Front wrote:The Atak sets are really nice,,they are easily obtainable on Ebay as well..
here is a generic zimmerit set

here is the JadgPanther to give you an idea, https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-16-ATAK-MODE ... SwpDdVN-79
I have the panther sets because they are awesome, I have a few other sets too. Look around and you will find them just fine
Cheers!
