Any particular brand, or type, of hairspray you'd recommend? I don't know anyone, personally, who's used it creatively- as you have, and other modellers do apparently, nor as a means of stiffening up the old perm. (That is, with the possible exception of my late Mother-in-Law (nag-in-law), on the nights she went out (Yippee!)

Not sure if brand of hairspray is important. I just used what ever I could find on the wife’s dresser.there are loads of videos on YouTube showing how to use this technique. I can certainly recomend it but beware. Practice first because the paint can come off in large chunks if you are not careful

Herman used to wax lyrical about Hair Spray as a fixative in his weathering and detailing,
If you check out his builds I am sure you will become much the wiser.

Out of interest do you have a reference for the fuel barrel on the engine bay that includes the fixtures holding it in place ?
It's quite simple.
Just cut 4 wedges out of wood, glue them onto the deck and put the barrel in between.
That's how I did it on both my Ostfront Tigers.
Look at the pic below, if you look closely, you can see the wedges on both Tigers.
