Ahh gotcha, what we call a pint can....and we have a tool for opening that type of lid.
But it’s a dry heat!

Just as an 11 year old does,
Anything with a sharp edge that fits under the lip of the "Pint can/Tinlet" and lifts the lid,
Only sometimes the lid flies across the room in one direction the contents everywhere else,
My Father would sometimes have cause to speak quite harshly to me
Bearing in mind I come from a military family my Fathers harsh words could sting for a couple of days.

I think I am about to upset someone

Many make the mistake of using a blade screwdriver to open these types of cans, a visit to a paint store like Dun Edwards or sherwin Williams ( in the U.S) will get you one of these meant specifically for opening cans of paint.

Okay, first, those little tinlet's, Larry, are only about 1 inch in diameter. I know the paint cans you're talking about and the tool but that's for much, much bigger paint cans. Second, while it's very helpful for all you guys to give him the paint numbers for humbrol paints, you need to remember that Bama, the OP, lives in the United States and the only way he can get humbrol paint is by mail. His local hobby shop almost certainly won't carry them. Personally, I really like those paints and I do take the trouble to mail order them but it's not exactly what I would call easy or convenient.
When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!

FWIW I used a spray can of plastic compatible gray primer from Walmart followed by dark washes and then some shading with a can of Testors Panzer Gray which is a bit too dark for the overall base coat.
