My honest answer is that 8 channels is about as low as I would be happy with,
I use a number of different 6 channel transmitters for trucks and aircraft but I only use my Turnigy TGY 9X (Rebadged Flysky) for armour and there are times when that is not enough,
Anything below 8 channels leaves you having to compromise.

Depends how smart your transmitter software is. By allocating just one channel button as a "shift" function, you double all the remaining channel functions! This makes the transmitter cheaper and far less cluttered. This can be replicated in the mfu which can also recognise when the shift button is being applied.

I've watched truckers walking after their trucks with huge transmitter arrays screwed to coffee tables strapped around their chests like a baby carrier. No...... You need to think.smart!

Thank you very much for yours answers, it is a 4 channels,with two extra,4 inters,two rotates ´it seems that it can be passed in 10 channels ( upgrade firmware ) but exceeds mybshills.A friend advised me Taranis 9 X elite ?but given my programming skills I'm a little lost in all this

Take a good look at the FlySky i10. It's the easiest radio to program that I've ever found and it has a help section so if I don't know how to program something the radio will actually teach me how to do it.

Something else to consider when looking at the numer of channels available is the possibility of using your transmitter (TX) in S-BUS mode - this basically means you end up with just one set of cables coming from your receiver (RX) to your control board and you can still utilise 10+ channel functions. I currently use a Flysky 2.4G 10CH FS-i6S Transmitter & FS-iA10B Receiver in S-BUS mode which actually gives me the capability to run 16 channels

I also use a Flysky i6s with the 10 channel s-bus receiver with my Clark TK-40s board. I’ve read that Clark programs their boards with the FS i6s.

That i10 Radio that Max is recommending you should cover most of people's needs. But if you need to do deep programming for having the most realistic tank behaviour and tons of other things that most people will never use (but that are a must for me) you better grab something that is running erskytx or opentx software. The "Taranis X9 lite" is a great option and is affordable.

But the best radio that you can buy nowadays, and with a very affordable price for what it is, is the "Jumber T16" check it, there is nothing nowhere near it.

Id stay away of the cheap flysky radios. While ok for most, the lack of programming capabilities makes them unusable for me. Most of people are happy with them though, so I am a rare case.
