heng long tiger or sherman

Only last night l decided to give my Sherman a spin round the room. I then ran my Tiger around the same route. Both were originally v5.3 types but l swapped the MFU out of the Sherman for a v3 unit in one of my KTs, so the Sherman was running the v3 and the KT the correct engine sound.

I was taken by the very smooth pull away and slow running ability of the Sherman, rather better than the v5.3 managed Tiger 1. What makes this all the more surprising is that the Tiger has been fitted with a more expensive Taigen low ratio gearbox combo.

I ended up trying all my HL models and the v3 types all displayed better low speed control, despite the fact that l always strip and lube all tanks before l run them from new. Okay, the 5.3 MFU does give you better barrel up/down control but I'm beginning to think that if you are not running a Tiger/Panther/KT or Leopard you could be better off with the earlier v3 MFU.

I only have 5 v3 and 5 v5.3 Henglongs (the rest are Taigen and Torro) so a small sample but has anyone else had the same experience? This may affect your decision if you've not already made the purchase.
