As this is a late war model . I have altered the roof to represent the 40mm two piece constructed roof with the centeral weld seam . However I have seen them without this . I have made the loaders hatch resemble the Kingtiger version with an of set handle and the pull cord to close the hatch ( see later picts ) I have the internals to fit to this yet , added the usual late war turret parts . I altered the two front lifting lugs so the resemble a mushroom ( see later picts ) and added the rear mushroom to and lowered the hole. I have left of the crane mounts as they came out , well on paper the following month .Possibly some were fitted in the field ?

The rear convoy light , thanks to Fv432 for this method . I have made a brass holder and mount . The four blue lights are fibreoptic cable . I fed these from the light unit , through the tank and into a blue LED . The lens is a paint brush tip protector cut down . Theres more to do to these yet .

The incorectly smoking HL exhausts I have replaced with my own ones . I used a piece of copper pipe for the exhaust , fitted the plastic bottom cut from the HL ones , made the top from a washer I drilled a hole in the side of the copper pipe and pushed a piece of plastic pipe throught this and the washer so the smoke flows correctly  it just pops through the top. I also used the plastic HL tops but replaced the plasitc supports with metal ones . After this I made lifting caps but due to the fact I was having trouble getting them to lift ( thanks guys on here for the advice regarding this ) and that I found out late war Tigers didnt have them I decided to remove them.

I have done all the usual corrections i.e. barrel length and matlet . The rear engine covers nearest the turret should have two layers of mesh , a finner one underneath . I bought this from poundland , two ciricular mesh thingys  ;D . The rear engine cover I scratch built from plastic sheet and small bolts .

This picture shows the three part strip to the mantlet housing and you can also see the altered front lifting lugs ,  these are the HL original ones filled down to resemble the mushroom. Also theres the two ( two each side ) grub screws in the barrel sleeve .

A couple of small details to the turret . I have fitted a plastic block under the periscope cover to resemble the periscope and added the opening handle and the pull cord to close the loaders hatch . Ive still got to fit the internal handles and turn wheel.

The track mounting cables on the side of the tank changed during the war , as mines the late version I have reproduced the mounting clips and brackets out of brass .
