Looks a detailed model, at a fraction of the price of the Cross model. However, I'm guessing that has either no or very limited off road ability.

It's why Simon wants to evaluate one. This company has previously only made low end budget RC trucks, this one isn't cheap at all, and he wants to pull one apart to see what the driveshafts are made of etc. It may be the bargain of the year, but it may be something that won't last five minutes. Only an inspection will reveal the quality, or lack of.

Hi Rob can see why he needs to see one and look close at the drive line ,some of the Chinese made metals are very weak some to brittle some to soft .needs to check them out so he can cut down on returns which will in the end cut into his profits.

Exactly, the profit is so small that a couple of returns would wipe out ten sales. It's just not worth the hassle, it's why he only sells the high end quality models.

Frustration! 1/16 tanks and 1/14 Tamiya trucks, and now 1/12th!!
IMHO, l think we ought to boycott this model and make it clear why. Either manufacturers comply with the current 1/16th 'standard' for RC armour or be prepared for your model not to sell. Just 5 minutes of research would tell even the dumbest of marketing departments that the is no 12th scale market out there.
Harsh? No - if they want our custom (money) then then they should produce products we can use. You only need to witness the efforts we take to make the 1/16 scale WPL (etc) trucks into an acceptable quality to appreciate how important consistency in scale is. If they were not 1/16, we wouldn't touch them with a bargepole!

ummm there is some debate that WPL is Not exactly 1/16 but more 1/18 (at least in some cases)

I & many others use the drivetrain of the so called 1/16 trucks to make a multitude of other vehicles that you can’t buy off the shelf, as the axle widths are pretty close for 1/16. I may just buy one of these larger versions just to see if it’s of any use.

On a side thought, if Will stopped buying them, the whole Chinese economy would collapse lol
