What about the 325 members of this forum all pitching in and buying a boat load of Tamiya? It would require the assistance of a dealer, but if the dealer made 20GBP per unit that is still alot of money for a one time sale? And the vendor would have the upgrade market for 325 Tanks.Even a hundred is a lot of money, would that be enough compensation for the shipping hassle?

Thats a good idea Saxon. I think it would depend on how much per tank it was and, how many people would want one. If there was a selection of tanks, and the price was right, i'd consider having two or three.

Thanks for the compliment, when I was younger and racing we would get 10 guys together and purchase tires 20 at a time, the local dealer was game because he had to sell so many a year to keep his discount. We got a great deal.he made some money every one benefited. But the key is the dealer,I would gladly spend 500 U.S. for two tanks, that would be a great deal.So I'm in 1-TIGERVI AND 1-KING TIGER FULL FUNCTION.Also it would have to be a U.K.Dealer,I only know of four guy's over here and their all forum members, and the shipping would kill a us dealer, don't know how this vat works but perhaps you guy's could bring this up in your club meetings and go from their,I'm in.Sax

Saxondog, VAT is almost Like the USA's sales tax and for some strange reason it is called Value Added Tax (VAT)
this article should answer any questions

I’m up for it, if we all CLUB together perhaps we could get a really good discount even with paying VAT. After all 17.5% on £150 is a lot less than 17.5% on £500.

I don’t see why I should fork out High Street prices when with a bit of effort they can be bought a lot cheaper. The more I travel the more I see examples of rip off Britain.

I want a pair of Tamiya Panthers there is no way I am paying full retail

Next year I retire so I can see one of my projects will be getting a lot more of my tank stuff a lot cheaper.

As for cheesecake- Does anybody know a good recipe I prefer the non bake version not the “New York Styleâ€

If we did it as a club buy that would be awesome! Id be in for a Panther and Sherman, and depending on price maybe a Panzer IV as well.
We should gather the names of everyone interested together and see how many people want them and how many tanks each.

Out of interest, how many Tamiya's do you get in a container?
Cheers,
Rik
