Maybe a stupid question.....Did you check you battery? I have had a similar issue on my IBU3 board. I found out that a weak battery caused a similar problem: normal driving functions are ok, other functions like sound and tower motor are dead.....

good luck easy8

Sounds to me like you have a short somewhere when you put your top on it makes the connection and fools the board. I had this happen with one of my Clarks. Once I traced and found the wire on the back side of the 8 pin connector on the upper hull had come loose and was making contact with the pole beside it it shut down all turret operation...

I think Dean may be on to something.

Is it possible to plug everything in but keep tank open so you can access wiring?

If so then power it up and gently shake down the wiring by moving it around to see if you can induce the malfunction.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your prompt responses. The battery is full, I charge it before testing. It's the stock battery that comes with the tank and it's the best battery I'm having with 3300 mah. Maybe like dgsselkirk suggested, there's short somewhere. I will look more into this and the first thing to look at would be the 8-pin connector.

Yes, since the 8pin has all the turret functions and that is where your issue is I would start there especially on the upper hull connections.

I started diagnose the 8-pin connector with a ohms meter and found no problem. however, testing the connector of the turret rotating servo result positive. All power sources disconnected when testing. Is this normal or is it shorted?

The upper hull functions problem remains unsolved however, I am dealing with the off-track problem at the same time. Today I'm rather confident in the tracks and would like to take it out to the grass ground for a run. I was running the tank into long grass for about 20 minutes without problem and then my wife came. So I asked her to drive the tank so that I can take a video of it. At first, it's OK but then she spun the tank like an electric fan. She still drive it despite the track fall off...
