WPL GAZ 66 builds. Add yours here :)

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

Ok, this is the GAZ thread? Will, did you start this for all GAZ projects? I'll take a chance that you did and post here. And Will, I thought you were gonna learn to post photos instead of links? I skip about 80% of linked photos, just so ya know. With imgur you upload the photo and then it's just one click to do this

I'm not tryin' to rag on ya, just tryin' to help you make a better thread, can ya dig it? If you want I'll make a video showing exactly how easy it is to post photos from imgur.

Anyway, the canvas top

Will, did you change the title to read "Add yours here"? I don't remember seeing that when I decided to post here, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there. The hippie brain in action, don't ya know.

That's a mis-quote. I did not write that, that was Will that needs to clear out models before buying more.

One interesting variant some could try would be one of the partisan combat vehicles seen in the Middle East or the Donetsk region of Ukraine- some Gaz 66's had their flat beds fitted with recoilless ani-tank weapons, and the cab roofs taken off to facilitate 360-degree rotation of said weapon.

(An example here)

As for me, I've ordered one and will use this as a Soviet army ammo-carrier for my burgeoning tank army!

Here's a thought- anyone know if there's a 1/16th scale BM-14 'Katyusha'-style rocket launcher that we could mount on this beast?

I have looked and couldn't find anything.
Maybe something on thingverse that could be scaled and printed.
I have found plans for an SPG9 Recoiless Rifle that I intend trying to scale manually and build from scrap materials.

And yes it doesn't look that neat. I am now trying to figure out how to clean it up. I made my own template and tried painting it on and the ink ran!
So i took the template off and tried removing paint but that made it worse. So now trying to touch up and by use of wet and dry on end mini screwdriver clean up the outline and improving it. Now given myself several hours work to clean the damn writing up haha
