It could be the smoke oil ? Have another look inside make sure the wick is not to full of oil, check the resister is clean, I removed some of the wick to improve heat transfer, I also use megasteam but not to much, the conditions inside have to be right, if the wick is full of oil try to remove some it works best nearly dry, I’ve also got good results by removing the wadding in the smoke tank and just letting the tip of the wick dip into a small amount of oil.

It can take time to prime these and get a good mix of heat and oiled wick then they will produce a decent amount.

Thank for the info, but I fail to see how to regulate the amount of oil on the wick when the filler drains directly onto the wick/resistor.
I’ll seek advise from rctankelectronics before doing more.
Although I have looked into voltage boosters to vary the voltage which in turn should vary the smoke output.

I have many Tarr smokers in service and the one issue I've had is a loose connection and in another case I added too much oil. They all smoke very well. I hope you get this sorted out. Ian is tops

Hi, yes it does flow down the wick when you fill but, because the wick is sitting on or near the wadding/cotton ball at the bottom it holds/stops the fluid part draining into the tank, so in essence it backs up the length of the wick making it far to wet, the trick is to allow the fluid to drain away from the top, then when you start the Tarr the wick draws up fluid instead of being flooded, removing the wadding solves this.

There is a small amount of fluid in them pre delivery, going through the post it's been tipped upside down and shook about so the resister/wick is full of oil.

Check the settings, check the resister, dry the wick out, get some megasteam (get rid of the old oil), remove wadding, make sure the battery is fully charged.

Give it time to prime, stop the fan let it heat, rev like mad

Just to add to the puzzle there is a fellow Tarr user on "RCU"who says his unit is making TOO MUCH smoke,
He is using a Clark TK22 Board at 7.4.

For what it's worth, this is the voltage step-up I used with my Tarr. At that price point you can't really go wrong; you're unlikely to damage the heater element unless you really crank the voltage.

Ian at RC tank electrionics is going to have it back to check it.
