I am sure there are many alternatives as to how you should calculate the correct weight for a scale vehicle. My simplistic view is that a 1/16 scale model occupies 1/16 cubed of the volume of the original, or 1/4096. Using this, it gives the scale weight of a Tiger 1 at just over 13 kilos, which does not seem unreasonable.

Richard that is a most excellent point. Weight can be added as needed and would not be too difficultImage

A considered approach Richard. Calculating the overall volume though is complicated by calculating the turret volume separate from the main body volume, whilst being aware of the relative the density of the armour, from model to model. Interestingly, Birger Streppel's redesigned tiger kit on Chris Ludwig's site is based on the accurate representation of armour thickness on the actual tiger. ( http://www.ludwigs-hobby-seite.de/Tiger%20H.html )
The kit employs PE sheets ranging from 1mm to 10mm in thickness. However, polystyrene weighs less than steel, but a 1/16 model in metal using a similar principle such as the Aeromate Full-metal Tiger 1, ought to be a good approximation of the real thing.
Not that it really matters. It's all for fun and distraction from Life's harsher realities....:D

Outstanding idea.
Guess I'll need the metal track upgrade for sure now.

Thanks, Tim :)
Shaun ( Capn.Jarndice) mentioned the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, and I'm sure most people have seen the famous video of it's collapse. If the replacement has a walkway, it might be interesting to make a video of the first 1/16 scale tank to traverse the notoriously windy narrows on it! Now there's a challenge :D
