Well varnish need at least 24h to be fully dry. So I would recommend to do weathering after this time. Otherwise You will take off paint. Or You can try water based weathering products, those should be less strong so varnish will be probably fine after couple of hours to start weathering.

Started painting the separate tools and parts.

Since I am not very precise with a brush I usually simply correct the surfaces afterwards, using the main color again. Works fine!

Hi, The Tools and loose fittings were with certain obvious exceptions like the Fire Extinguisher and wooden handled tools painted matte black on the Panzer 4.

Acrylic wash on acrylic varnish can be dangerous too. The recommendation to let it dry completely is best.

Dunno! When I got it, it had metal sprockets and idler, somebody replaced them. The seller included the plastic sprockets so I used those again for this build to have a spare set of metal, but the idlers are left in place. How do you see the difference?

Oh the shape of the cap in the center protrudes out and the spokes are much different. They still look good
