Re: KV-1 57mm prototype
Good morning, Raminator,
Piano wire has great tensile strength. The proper size diameters should do the trick. Get ready to blunt the teeth on your hacksaw! ;o) A big bolt cutter is what I used.

Painless

Use a cutting disk in a Dremel or similar. Just to throw you a curve ball, the third option is corleis suspension but it is quite pricey;

Good afternoon,
Lovely progress Wyvern! I really like the early war Soviet builds and this one will be a memorable one. Following along!

Re: KV-1 57mm prototype
Thanks painless - the next job is the mantlet face which is going to be somewhat of an educated guess as the reference photo is only a side shot
Re: KV-1 57mm prototype
There are a couple of images on Google - kv1 57mm I'll also check books when I get home as I'm sure I've got a couple of images in one of them.
Re: KV-1 57mm prototype
Hi Rob, if you can find a photo of that prototype that would be great. Just bear in mind I am modelling a one off prototype and not the actual production model.
