Hi Have been asking for this since the forum was formed, so people who live near to each other can get together and have meetings, alas most people seem to forget or don't want to fill in this section. It seems if you want to start a meeting is to try and find guys who live near you so the only way is to put a post up and see who responds. Don't think it should be mandatory but it would help to form more clubs,
regards pete

Funny too how many times I find fellow members from the States like myself but I have to dig to get information about location at times. The idea of a flag image is a nice one. Very simple and doesn't tell you everything about location buy at least it narrows it down

I really like the flag idea. If the member chose to do that, they could still put in more specific details if they wanted, or just leave it as a flag.
Such as myself..

...and of course 'The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland' (Phew..

) to give the U.K, or G.B., its full moniker has the celebrated Union Flag (Union Jack) as its flag, but Scotland has its own flag too....the Saltire. Which one would I get?

Roy you are rightfully a proud highlander But do you know the original derivation of the title "Union Jack" ?
Over the years it has been postulated that it is the Jackstaff on HMs ships from which it flew before the White ensign was introduced, It is
actually from the mouths of the Jacobean sycophants at the court of James 1st/6th who approved the original Flag design and at that same
court and more widely in the land King James was often called "Jack" and so within the court of the King as an acknowledgement to the
designer of the flag it was personalised to the name the "Union Jack".

Roy, I make the acquaintance of a few friends born in Scotland and sometimes they call this their flag:
What is its purpose?

Its purpose is to confuse!
Well, it's the banner of the Royal Coat of Arms of Scotland; the 'Lion Rampant' as compared with the Fleur de Lis (Lily) and Three lions commonly seen on the coats of arms of English Kings. I suppose the Queen can sport the lot. The Fleur-de-lis
is an anachronism from the times when English Kings also claimed to be kings of France.
Personally, I'd have the 'Jolly Roger' as my personal flag

...but my skirt chasing days are a distant memory.
