How can you visually tell the 4th set from the 3rd set?

The handset looks the same as in pictures and videos I've seen of the new T90, and I can't imagine anyone paying 70 euros for the old H/L electrics.

The silver shoulder buttons on the transmitter betray it as a 4th-gen. Stickers are also just silver. No other colours. Old-gen transmitter has black and red stickers.

If you buy the new 4th gen board would you have to solder anything/buy adapters to install it into an old Rx18 tank or is it just plug and ready to go?

4-Th gen Controller board is available at Licmas now :

You dó need the new transmitter mentioned in the link. Older transmitters won't work. Only thing left then, is figuring out the wiring.

Mick.
The elevation should be the same. In the videos they have directional control or you can just cycle it like the old ones.

I believe they álso changed the elevation motor assembly. Now there's something of a ratchet/slipper coupling in it. When the barrel gets at its highest/lowest point ,it sort of rattles and clicks. The older elevation units just had one continuous wavy ridge that lifted/lowered the barrel.

This is what I'm saying. The new elevation unit sits at the side of the bb unit, it's like a servo with a wheel instead of an arm. The wheel has a pin that sits in a slot on the side of the bb unit, it's a totally different design.
I have three Shermans with this same forth gen system.
Mick.
Not in the T90, though. I just checked. It lóoks like the same, old-fashioned wavy thing on a gear that lifts and lowers the barrel via a peg on the back of the bb unit. But somewhere in the innards, there's stíll that new ratchet.
I believe the side-pin construction is strictly for tanks with a smaller turret, like the Pz3 en Pz4 and, of course, the Sherman.

So, do you still get the up and down movement choice using the left stick with the latest HL T90? Rather than cycling through.
Mick.
It can do both.
