My Favorite German tank is the Tiger 1. It's a legendary Brute with a ( deserved\undeserved according to which book you read ) reputation for battlefield prowess. The mere mention of it's possible presence in the field of conflict slowed whole divisions, American and Russian during WWII. It certainly looks the bit and there are enough after market pieces available for the Hobbyist to build any one of the actual tanks in use during the War in any selection of scales.

It's not a german tank, but it was the effective prototype for the Panther, and was also used extensively, in captured form, by the Germans: so behold the T34/85. This working example was on display last week on Loch Ewe, where I live. (The 'crew' even fired the cannon to take out my neighbours' eardrums, and terrify a few sheep). I cite this as an example of industrial ugliness: of severe metallic acne, as if the turret has had a mud pack applied by hand at a health farm.Yet, as a fighting machine, in severe winter conditions, it was incredibly effective, compared with over engineered German tanks. Incidentally, I took many more pics for reference detail, if anyone is interested...I even have a partial one of the interior.

My Favourite Soviet machine is the JS 152 "cat killer"

German one is the Jagdpanther with Stug close behind it.

Western allied is the Firefly................

The Jagd got the mix of firepower, protection and mobility right, it suited the defensive operations perfectly and by all accounts was a good tank to fight from.
More of a scalpel than a pocket knife, but one well suited to its role.
The Stug III same................firepower, reasonable protection(aided by its low silhouette) and reliable mobility with rugged versatility as a fighting platform puts it up there, and from a modeling point of view, allows a degree of free-spirited interpretation of what any of these might have looked like in its day. The pocket knife rather than the scalpel !!

Why do you prefer King tiger over Tiger 1? I used to like King tiger alot also, my favourite tank, till I feel that its just a T34 copycat. So now I prefer Tiger 1.

Using sloped armor does not make it a T34 copy. You'll have to point out where it was a copy, I can't see it. The KT has fenders the T34 does not, the KT rear armor is sloped the opposite direction of the T34. The T34 had a cast style turret where the KT used 2 different turrets neither one looked like the T34. I could go on all day the differences so you'll have to point out the similarities beyond sloped frontal armor to me cause I'm just not seeing it. Sorry

The Tiger I was cool for 2 reasons. 1 first to field an 88 and 2 it's nickel armor which was tougher then steel armor.
