It's worse than that, the tracks have centre horns, so on each link I would have to cut a section out on each side of the horn, all identical on every link, and then slim down the sprocket. Patience?? lol.

I took a look at the Scorpion 3D printed tank, Bogeyman has built one. It has 3D printed tracks. They are a work of art (the whole tank is really, really good, incredible design and build quality). If I could do that it would be the way to go.

I assume you've looked at Panzer 3/4 tracks. Alternatively, could you print a track inner piece to replace the Sherman lugs to allow the drive to work, but include horns for the road wheels. It'll be tedious but you'd have commercial tracks for strength & inner plates for the look?

Pretty snazzy, Wibbs. I always love it when guys have the cojones to just hack up a tank and make it into something new. If you think about it, it takes a little bit of guts. I know the Bulldog isn't the most expensive tank in the world but it would still be easy to mess up and throw all that money away. You're doing a great job, Wibbs, and I can't wait to see how it comes out. For a while I thought my anti-aircraft Bulldog was going to be the only unusual variation anybody ever made (even though mine is totally fake) so it's really good to see someone else doing something different with an M 41.

Thats a bit of a curve ball Rob, it's certainly different, should look amazing when done, but it may not be easy finding a suitable crew for it! Have you found one already?

Just goes to show that there are loads of 'AFV's out there that can be modeled by us, using the technology we have available now, that makes it possible to create the formerly impossible.
In the military scheme of things, would this machine be a rough contemporary replacement for the Priest ?

I am going to try to get the spade and rear platform operating on a servo, plus elevation and recoil, but we shall see...there isn't a lot of room under there. I am just waiting for my third attempt at the upper hull to finish printing...I've spent 30 hours printing it all together. This one looks better quality than the others, and its far closer to the correct shape.

All of the other parts...and there are lots of them, are quite small, so it will be a long haul before its finished.

I tried PIII tracks, they will fit the Bulldog roadwheels very nicely, but I will have to make a pair of sprockets. It will take a few mm off the overall width, and improve the appearance. It's the width of the track guards that I need to slim down more than anything, as toolboxes are mounted on them, and they will look a bit odd it they are oversize.
