Hello:

I use only Vallejo in my airbrush. I have a Badger Patriot 105 (I think that is what it is). It has a gravity cup and I never have issues with the Vallejo paint drying.

Model Air isn't supposed to need thinned but I usually add a drop or two to each cup full to help flow.

I use Windex as a quick cleaner between goes (refilling the cup if spraying a lot) and I only use Vallejo airbrush thinner and cleaner. Windex is your friend and does a nice job of cleaning up the needle and makes cleaning the cup a breeze.

I am not sure if a bottle will do an entire coat on a 1/16 tank. Until this point I have only painted 28 and 15mm vehicles and figures for tabletop gaming. I know a bottle goes a long way and I can paint several 28mm vehicles with one. They are cheap enough to grab an extra and have it on hand just in case.

I did find I get better results when I put glass bb's in each bottle to keep the pigments from separating out. Two or three per bottle and it gives you a great mix.

I have only used Vallejo - straight out of the bottle - no problem.
Occasionally for a wash I have thinned with both water and thinners - again no problem.

I use water to flush out the air brush after each use.

Most of the model air flows well im both of my Iwatas. However i do need to thin them some so I don't get dry tip. I don't need a flow aide for Model air but if I use the standard stuff it needs it.
The one model air I have trouble with is the Dunkelgelb. It is my bane. Dry tip issues and once I get it to spray without drying it is very thin and requires 3 pots to do any sizable area.
The flames of war german dark yellow is a direct match to the model air dunkelgelb. I'll use that on sprus then touch up.

I switched from Tamiya to Model Air so I can paint without the fumes.

I use Model Air unthinned as well and have never had any issues using my cheap ebay Chinese knock off airbrush. The last thing I painted was a mato metal lower sherman hull and I used about three quarters of a bottle to do three good coats. The suspension bogies were a bit fiddly to do though and took a bit of paint so I think I'll use maybe one and a half bottles to do the whole tank.

Thanks for reply's chaps, B_Man yep I'll get a couple thanks..with regards to V Air and thinning I can only think Tom's problem must of been water to thin , I have only read great reviews about V Air. I've also read great reviews about using Ultimate Airbrush thinner with V Air I'm going to order some of that too

I have had great success using model air from Vallejo and have not had to thin them as much as my Tamiya paints. Both work very well. For the best results with my detailed airbrushing I use Vallejo model air colors

I'm still quite a novice with an Airbrush, but I have only used Vallejo for it and I think it works very well. I thin the paints about 1/3 or 1/4 (give and take) and there is plenty in a bottle to go around. I have only used Vallejo thinner for this job ;)

Thanks again chaps for help and tips a few arrived this morning I just had a quick test of Model air on my old £5 abrams. The paints sprayed great, found it best to mix around 60/40 with Ultimate Airbrush Thinner.

pre shading I tried earlier
