For downloading the benedini sounds we need an username and a password...

So unless somebody has the sounds and upload them on internet, the board has no use.
These are the reason there is now a password. Sounds and software are online you just have to do some digging.
I got the software, and not sure about the sounds (the program shows them as demo, not sure if they are really demo or not) i guess i wont know until Ibhave the board.

But I love making my own sounds. For me the sounds are like the paint, it gives personality. Thats one of mi bigges reasons of love with the ASP, lol.

You can import your own sounds for the TBS mini and micro. The .tbs soundsets contain all of Thomas Benedini's sound files, but you can just use your own .wavs otherwise. The .tbs archive prevents you from using his work on other hardware (Clark, IBU, et al.), the password prevents you from using them with the Chinese knockoff.

Hi! Are you sure that we can import our own sounds for the micro? For the mini yes, we can, but I´ve read somewhere that if we try to put .wav sounds to the board, we need to send it back to the seller to reconfigure it.

At the other hand, the sound pack I got from the aliexpress sellers has the program and just demo sounds. If any of you will to share a link with all the sounds I'll really apreciate it!

EDIT: Ok, got some news here. About my demo sounds, the manual says this:

4.2 Soundfile containing Demo-Sounds A collection of predefined soundfiles is available at http://www.benedini.de. They are protected against usage at other soundunits. You can listen them by using the TBS Flash software. The beginning and end of each protected soundsections is played at reduced volume. In this case the play buttons are labled with “Demo”. If such a soundfile is loaded onto the soundunit, it is played normally.

So it seems I have some sounds to play with... But a shame I dont have any tank sound yet.

EDIT 2: According to the manual: It does not say if it is for the micro or the mini
4.3 Creating a soundfile To create a soundfile you need recordings in .WAV format. The following formats are supported: 8Bit, 16Bit, Mono and Stereo at 8000Hz, 11025Hz, 16000Hz or 22050Hz sample rate. ALL sounds within a soundfile MUST have the same format! A soundfile is containing 6 engine states that are played accordingly the model state. In addition up to 16 independent special sounds are possible.

But well, it seems we can create them! So it makes the chinesse knockout a very interesting small piece!

I haven't been able to find it again, but I remember reading that the TBS Micro (and by extension, I assume, the Das Mikro) has a smaller flash memory than the TBS Mini.

You are right, the mini can play 93 seconds and the micro 22.

Apparently the Das Mikro boards are now being sold on Banggood with all the Benedini files decrypted and with all the drivers included. I haven't looked, but it might be worth checking out what they are now selling.

Hi Mr WibblyImage I'm sure I could try to look this up online or maybe you can direct me to the correct location on the forum but just how does one attach the micro or the benedini to a Clark tk22 board? I have several older Clark boards and would like to try this on a couple of them instead of upgrading the boards all together. Is it very involved as far as programming etc.

Thanks

Carl

I kind of have an idea of how to wire it up. I think my question if I phrase it proper is do you have to add sounds to the benedini mini or does it simply enhance the sounds of the Clark board?

For anyone else with the same question, the Benedini is a stand alone sound board that holds the tank sounds. There are a few videos on You Tube that show how to hook the boards up to various tank systems.
