This is one of the most mysterious tanks of WW2, so well done for giving it a go. There have been a few attempts over the years, but none of them were to this level of quality. Following with interest.

Thanks for all the great comments, guys. I've really been enjoying this build. Always on the look out for something unusual to have a go at.

I think I'll see about making up a few of the hoist/ mounting bars and see if there is any interest. I'm guessing somewhere around $35USD, finished and painted.

I've been working on the exhaust today. I tried this stuff out for the first time.


My first attempt was an utter failure. Mixed the stuff up wrong, it never really dried and the developer didn't really do anything. The directions said to mix in equal parts, and that's what I thought I did. I found out that you can clean it off with rubbing alcohol if it doesn't come out right.

The next attempt I poured in the powder first, then added the liquid part until I had a thick paste. Here's what it looks like just after it's applied.


It dried really quick this time, so I was able to put the developer on pretty quick. The instructions say that it takes up to 8 hours to fully develop, but here's what it looks like after about an hour.


And I was able o get it all into a primer coat.




More to come as I make some progress.

Here's the results of the rust on the mufflers. This is what it looked like this morning...




I'm really liking this stuff. It looks fantastic on the mufflers, but it looks like it'll take a real light touch if you plan on using it on the hull.

Made up a couple of stowage racks for the rear deck.




Now I have to fill them up. Building some crates up, too.

Another novel conversion Bill, fantastic work. The Bergetiger's always been a super interesting one, whether it was actually a recovery, demolition or EOD vehicle.

Top-notch fabrication, the winches and crane are works of art. I'm looking forward to seeing more!

Did some painting yesterday and today. Here's a shot without the flash...


And with the flash...


I did a bit of touch up on some of the stripes, they had some missed spots. Here's the paints used.


The stripes on the sand color were just a bit too vibrant for my tastes, so I did a heavy wash of black tempra paint. I like this paint as it's water based, so I just slop it on real heavy, then after it dries, I wipe off the excess. This also took off some of the stripes and toned down the sand color. I liked this result better than the other, so I ran with it.


Now here's a few outside with the final paint finish. Still some weathering to do, then the stowage.

Great work Bill this is one of my favorites I usually tone down my colors in the same fashion and then I weather my models.

May I also suggest a ladder ?
Would have been handy on a workshop unit for access at times.
