Not got the time tonne a river counter but this tanks origins is based on real heavy metal so I'll carry on.

hi guys I have just finished my firefly its the H/L 105 Sherman ,changed the barrel to 17 lb,der changed the commanders hatch to the split one, changed the loaders hatch to the smaller one , changed the rear without the defuser , & added a turret M/G ,might change the bb barrel to the recoiling one at a later date & add an asiatam recoil unit ,with muzzle flash , tanker 242

ps, also added the radio box on the turret rear , tanker 242.

How did you go about swapping the hatches?

hi meatball, I cut off the commanders hatch with a razor saw then super glued on the metal split hatch from forgebear, then I reshaped the loaders hatch by cutting it square & filled in the gaps , I forgot to add in the last post I also added the armour plates to each side of the hull using plastic sheeting & used milliput to add the welded on look round the side plates, tanker 242.

Sounds awesome, I'll have a look at that but my hands ainght the steadiest.

First attempt at a plate and rough weld.

that's ok for a first attempt once its painted it should look ok , in doing the loaders hatch I just cut off the rounded ends & glued them to the opening leaveing a square hatch ,tanker 242,ps be carefull not to rush it with the saw & try to make a leval cut for the commanders hatch .
