Hey,
Thanks for the advice ... I'll try it. I hope it works. I also get me a servo to test everything.

Read the manual. With the Ibu2 PRO you need to use 5 channels, with 4 it wont work.
4 channels its only for the ibu2 base.

This is incorrect, an ibu 2 pro will work with 4 channel but you can't use the switched sounds. I've had to use 4 in the past when I didn't have enough servo cables.

Ok, long time I dont play with my Ibus (In fact I sold all of them) but as far as I remember I needed to press one of the switches in the radio to start the motors. It wont started with the sticks. I had to use at least 5 channels, thats for sure.
Maybe he needs to check the dip switches. Anyway Im sure if he reads the manual from the beginning to the end will find the problem.

In standard stick setup (drive on right, other functions on left) the engine start is down and right on ibu base and ibu pro. As I said only it will work on four channels.
Things to check, are the cables to the rx in properly, are they the right way around, and try swapping them around. There was an issue with a dodgy batch some time ago.
However if your not getting any sounds at all it sounds like the ibu isn't getting a signal from your reciver.

I took another look to the manual. It says this:
"By setting the dip-switch No. 6 to ON, the card is ready for a 6-channel receiver, then the behavior of the
5th channel changes becoming the switch that turns on or off the engine of the vehicle.
Channel 6 (usually a potentiometer on the transmitter used for flaps) now becomes a three-position switch
to play three different sound effects. "
So that is how I had it. Using 6 channels you cant start the motor with the sticks, and you need to press a switch in your radio that sends a +100 on channel 5.
Probarbly the problem that our college has is that he has plugged 4 channels and the dip switch is on the 6 channel mode. That explais why he can not switch on the tank with the stick.

Well I've learnt something new! Thanks!
