Hello guys . I have exactly the same problems and I'm also using the visaton FRS 8-4. I have deleted sounds and downloaded dozens of times and its always distortion on the rev up . I have seen you tube videos of maxmekkers own sound files and they sound fantastic , so I have audacity on the computer and plan to mess around with this also , only trouble is I don't have any sound files to do this , could any of you good fellows please give me some .wave sound files for the tiger 1 or 2 so I can give this a shot. thanks

Try the "delete sounds" button.

Then try the new Tiger sounds I created

When loading the sounds onto the IBU3 make sure you don't leave the window until 100% complete.

I have the above tiger sounds in .wav format as well so if the above doesn't work I can email them and let you play around in audacity.

Happy new year guys, and thanks for reply , Ive been messing with the sounds for hours and I think its sorted , I tried the bovington tiger 131 and was getting the same problems ,so after hours of messing about trying all sound files and messing with delta volume and frequency , I decided to change the firmware to v14 and try again, that never helped so updated again v15 and bingo everything much better ,I have no idea why but its louder than before and revs better , still a slight crackle at full volume but the tanks vibrating at full volume so I have to turn it down , After trying all sounds I think I like the King tiger type 2 sounds best(Tiger 1 must sound similar) but the tick over is too loud and can be heard over the rev (not a major problem ). If I could have these files in .wave I think I would make the tick over noise lower and the rev noise louder and it would be perfect. Tankbear I like the bovington sound track ,especially the long crank start but the rev sound needs work. I would appreciate these files to play around on audacity and see what I can come up with. And Max thanks I would love a loan of some of yours ,there the best sounds ive heard on the ibu3 yet. Thanks for the help

Good tip, I'll give the firmware update a try on mine over the weekend if I get time and see what the result is.

I plan to mod a few sounds in audacity myself when I finish with the build work on my current project. I thought I would try to reduce the db level of the rotation and elevation sounds to make the gun sounds stand out more. I might even tone down the engine a bit when I get the volume issue sorted.

I feel your numbness Herman,
We have been here before,
And I am getting mighty fed up with designers of electronics that force us to be slave to the equipment instead of these people building into it USER FRIENDSHIP,
This is meant to be a hobby, a means whereby I can find relaxation, not a university masters degree course in whatever subject at school I hated most,
We are paying these people their wages, they work for us, shouldn't we be demanding a standard of service from these people that allows us to actually get the full benefit from these overpriced circuit boards instead of not even understanding properly the user instructions,
NOW the Disclaimer :lolno:
By the way I am not referring only to the IBU3 or indeed any particular makers product but collectively.
By golly I do feel a lot better now.
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Well Said Jarndice , thank feck I'm not in this alone . Ive been hours messing with sounds in audacity and I'm going mad  I'm a simple guy with technical toy needs , I shoulnt need to be trying to make it better , we pay the electronic board people to do it for us . POWER TO THE PEOPLE :haha:

I finally found some time to play about with my IBU3 again today. I tried the downgrade/upgrade firmware trick with no joy. I then upgraded to the latest firmware and I'm still getting the crackling issue when the volume is above 50%. The gun sound is more distinct over the engine with the new firmware though so that is an improvement.
I think my next step will be to remove and re-add the engine sounds and maybe try some different samples. I just have to wait for the wife to be out somewhere so I don't drive her mental with revving tank engines.

B-man is the speaker in a sealed box enclosure?

As I've found putting in a sealed box controls the speaker better and the crackling is caused by the speaker vibrating out of control from the lack of dampened control.
