Lol, yes Harry was two foot six long, somewhat bigger than your beardie for sure. We also used to have a 3ft monitor lizard as well, known as Benji, but he was just the opposite to Harry and completely untamed. You couldnt go near him without thick gloves on. Dont think that Harry was any harder to keep than Baby Beardie tho, apart from the heated tank, he never had any special treatment. We had him for ten years & we didnt know how old he was when we got him. Keep the pics coming Mat  ;D

who would have thought some of us would be into Beardies too...lol.

We got Sammy when he was only 5 inches long. And that was just last November 2008. He is now about 16 inches long.

If you don't mind Matdragon, I'll attached a photo of our Sam on your thread. It was taken just a couple of days/weeks ago right after his bath just before going to his nail spa. We cut his nail every month. Does not seem to want to rough up his nails up on the rocks at his home. He prefers the nail spa. :) This guy probably thinks he's a prince :)

Hi Matt,

I didn't know you were into such beasts!

A few years ago, when I used to work at Bristol Museum we used to get staff from Bristol zoo doing demos with corn snakes etc. I was the only museum assistant who had no fear of reptiles and I would be volunteered to handle them for school groups etc because nobody else would touch them. I never understood why people would feel fear because they are cold blooded and "do not show body language" (crap - they do)

However, my favourites are dogs. I work as a trainer with a charity that specialises in dogs with violent behavior problems and I am very proud of the fact that I have just turned around a Staffie/Rottie cross from a potential killer into a lovely family pet in only 8 weeks. He went to his new home tonight, and already I misss him!

Everybody, young or old, should learn about animals and how to treat them properly

Peter

i have kept reptiles and spiders as well as numerous other things of a generally different nature for around 22 years and think they are all incredibly interesting animals the most interesting ones i have worked with were my friends venomous snake collection (never forget nearly getting nailed by a western diamondback rattlesnake!) but he has a DWA license which i couldnt get due to not having anywhere suitable to keep them.
had a few giant ones in the past as well but as i ran a rescue and rehoming service from my house for a while i had a lot of reptiles of different varieties coming and going and the one thing that always stuns me is how little people usually know about the pets they keep!
but anyway, heres a piccie of one of my babies that i miss terribly! (i dont look like this any more lol!! i got older!)
