hi ferny,

I am very much interested in getting my static tank to convert to RC, scale 1:35. Problem is i have zero knowledge on the materials required. If you don't mind, can you provide some instructions and list of materials (servos, gearboxes) etc i need? I will be waiting on seeing your project too. thank u

Hi Tommy

In answer to your question the gear boxes came with original model but can be bought speratly in think. The servos are the cheap micro servos from eBay and the reciever is from Fly sky hope that helps.

Nearly done! Only original parts are the hull, Sprockets, idlers and the outter road wheels. Just some washes and a coat of flat varnish to finish. Have also swapped the motors for 12v ones as the originals were screaming on a 2s lipo!Still really loud though. Any ideas? Also any know if rye field model workable tracks will fit as think the kit ones are pants.

Ferny,
Beautiful work! Give us a peek at the refurbished interior as well. As for tracks, something I am considering for mine in the future is Spade Ace or Fruil Metal tracks put together with pins, not wire. Those would be durable, add weight and run well with the better motors.

Painless

Good morning,
Thanks! The motors just do fit, it looks like. Those and your Lipo could drive metal tracks. The only issue might be the elder plastic gears.

Iam hoping that they will put less strain than the rubber tracks as they won't be so tight and have less grip on the ground, only one way to find out!
