If you get the time drop in at the Artillery Museum in Cartagena, they have a running StuG III Ausf G the guys there restored, apparently Franco swapped some food with Germany for ten StuGs in 1943! They also have a T-26 which is undergoing restoration, this was used during the Spanish Civil War.

Lucky so and so! Here we are in Blighty, with the air temps heading downwards with every passing day, and we get to read about you cruising around in 30c??
It would be great if you ever found the Spanish battlefield, those guys have set a standard that no one else is ever likely to reach.

I'd love to get on a train and get off in Europe with my car no less! But not happening any time soon.

Well I caught the bus into Cartagena and had a worthwhile visit to the artillery museum. The STUG III was in mint condition and looked as though it had just left the factory. I took lots of pics but the internet link here is cr@p and so I'll have to load them on my return. They have a couple of 88mms so took lots of pics to help with my Nashorn build. The most amazing thing there was their Guinness record collection of scale models of millitary vehicles and artillery which must number into the high hundreds, most of them 1/72 scale.
Anyway I'll continue to watch the posts and be back at the end of next month.
All the best
Alwyn

Hi All, back in good old blighty to rain, snow, high wind and sub-zero temperatures!

Anyway I should be back to business as usual in the next couple of days but unfortunately can't make the MAD meeting tomorrow

as the van needs emptying/cleaning and she who must be obeyed has told me in no uncertain terms that any disappearance on the wedding aniversary is likely to be met with the removal of some delicate parts of my anatomy (gulp!)

.
Anyway I can at least find time to order the 3d printer and associated consumables and get back to working on the Nashorn and Morris C8, plus replenish all my other consumables like styrene cement/sheet/rod/tube etc.
Great to be back and be able to keep up with all the postings
Regards
Alwyn
