Wow... what an assembly :O .. Oddly enough, though, I find this all very strangely comforting: :shh: because there are worse cases of addiction out there than mine :haha: That said, I have a fundamental rule: if anything is to be consigned to the attic, it might as well go to the tip or a charity shop, though the two can be easily confused!
Building an extension, a bigger shed,or converting a garage just invites more acquisition. Given a space like the one at Bovingdon, though..just imagine how many 1/16 scale tanks could be squeezed in there. But then, how do you decide which one to work on, or take for field trials (nb: avoiding the 'play word..)? You charge one up, and the others begin to look neglected and undernourished :shifty:
Back on the Bovingdon storage theme, it must be like playing with that sliding squares puzzle, where there's only one space out of sixteen unoccupied, when it comes to shifting the tanks around- unless, that is, there's an overhead crane system for dropping them in and hoisting them out....:problem:

Some nice collections in this thread.

I was in the restoration hall during Tankfest in 2015. Good for a wander or two that is for sure :D

I got divorced 6 years ago so my house is entirely a "man cave" but in reality one room is devoted to trains, tanks and my racing bikes, plus the whole back garden for the railway.

Before I jumped into tank mode I had a collection of 52 locos for my garden railway. (Currently down to 44 now).
My tank collection is currently 4.

How many is too many ? It's your life - go with your gut. It's all a balance or not. It's up to you.
