I can understand the reasons why some guys like the Zimmerit on their tanks as depending on what build it adds to its authenticity.

Well, with my very limited experience (1 KT build under the belt) I tend to agree with jarndice that it ended up seeming more like a chore than fun. However, I was/am inexperienced so this led to me applying, removing, re-applying layers so perhaps next time round it wouldn't be so bad. That said I get the impression that 1) there is a sense of personal achievement in DIY zim and, 2) done well (something I am striving for I might add) it looks more authentic.
However, the Atak zim does look very good quality and I could see myself tempted to go that route on a future build with zimmerit coating.

Just my two pence worth.

I have a set of the Taigen zimm just in case, and I did do a waffle type zim pattern out of putty on my StuG III which I will say was very satisfying despite most of it being covered.
I've yet to tackle a standard pattern on a Tiger or Pz IV, but its there to be done..............like powered flight, and Everest.
Achieve it- because its there to be done.

On topic, the ATAK set looks fantastic, and will set off a tank bang on, but it surely can be replicated with putty adding the extra level of satisfaction ?

I bought their kit for my Tammy Jagdpanther. I liked it a lot and it was easy to apply. I highly recommend it.

Sounds great! Which adhesive did you use?

No, you are not upsetting. My mistake for not checking date of post. However, the question asked was a supplementary to that asked elsewhere and the fact that you answered clearly shows the thread is still viewed - so no problem.....

Hi all,

I use always 2 component glue, the 5 minute type gives you time to adjust the sheets.
Then some putty to smooth the edges and ready you are.

Hope this helps.

Many thanks Rob, can you recommend any particular brand of two part adhesive?
Thanks
