I spent some time Thursday spraying the back plate with Primer and then putting it aside to harden,
Because it was just a single panel I bought a Rattle can of Humbrol Sea Grey number27,
I have used it before and it is as good a Matte grey as I have seen,
Today I sprayed the panel and let it rest for a couple of hours before spraying once more,
It is now dry and I and Humbrol have a problem!
The panel is nice and flat with no blemishes on the paint,
EXCEPT the Matte paint from Humbrol sea grey number 27 is actually a SATIN Finish !!
I know I can cover it with a Matte varnish but why should I have to?

Jarndice if you have an airbrush, syphon of some of the paint from the rattle can ( Ispray some into a little cup) then pore it into the top of your airbrush and give it a dusting over what you have Allready done and it will leave more of a Matt finish , hope this helps Andy

Hi Andy, Thank you for the Tip,
I have already sprayed the panel with Matte Varnish and it has dulled down the finish to a more acceptable level,
While I was waiting for the Panel to dry I took advantage of the time by tapping an M3 thread into the Exhausts, the Air cleaners and the tool box, I have never cared for self tapping screws so using hex headed M3 screws means I am less likely to strip the threads,
I used the same M3s to hold the Panel in position,
The whole of the back of this Tiger 1 will serve as a template for future Tiger 1 builds for I shall make it a part of the update plan to fit a metal rear panel.
If you don't mind putting in the work the end result is very satisfying,
And without the unfailing help from Forum members not the least being Dave of www.forgebeartanks.com the whole job would have been a non starter.
