Yeah you need to get that Firefly finished and its crew trained - if Keith and Frank make it to Pete-bog-horror to face 1st SS Pz Korps in the Nene Park in August, they'll need all the help they can get ;D ;D ;D

Hi,

I did it and converted it to a 251/8, an ambulance halftrack. The gearbox is a Tamiya #97, the frontwheel steering is a miniservo and the electronics are from www.sgs-electronic.de. Electronic and servo are connected by a Y-cable.
Sorry, there are no pictures, I built it about 2 years ago. Meanwhile I sold it.....

Gunnar

btw.He did after it after I had converted mine:

I have been too busy to do anything with the Kett for a while so don't know how it runs.
SS101 used 250's Kubelwagens and Schwimmwagen for reconnaissance purposes 251 was used by infantry and greandires so if you wanted to paint it as an SS 251 in Normandy you could use 1st SS LAH, 2nd SS DR, 9th SS H, 10th SS F, 12th SS HJ, 17th SS GB or any of the Army divisions.

Dandare had a 1/6 scale 251 this steered by the front wheels  ad also had  a small amount of movement with the tracks which was mainly used when in mud otherwise just the front wheels but to get the best out of this you would need weight at the front, the real thing steered with it's front wheels but once past I THINK 30 degrees the steering box allowed the tracks to slow on one side helping to turn the vehicle the more you turned the more the track slowed on that side also if the front wheels where off the ground you would just put full lock on the steering wheel and the tracks would turn the vehicle, no drive through the front wheels
