Fair comment and thanks for the reply Rivetcounter.

I do think there is always a danger of being too rigid when it comes to painting tanks tho. This story gives an idea of what might have happened elsewhere,and as we know during warfare anything can happen. Most of the wartime photo's are in black and white,which doesn't help when it comes to chosing paintschemes either.

I for one love the colours that the Tiger above is painted in and whether they are "real" or not wouldn't really concern me too much if I was to paint one of my tanks the same. And if I did paint it , I might quote the theft of allied paint as just one instance where some tigers were painted in the wrong colours. Explaining of course that this happened in '43 as I did in my original post.
