haha, Personally I prefer chain wax to oil. It tends to be less prone to spraying off where you put it. I use it on my Bike and on my tank with zero ill affect to either :p

My Bandit 1200 is long due replacing but I have not found anything that comes close to the all round enjoyment this bike brings me,
I can still clip a couple of Nonfango boxes on the side and go to France for the week, and the old dear will still beat Porsche 911s away from the lights, and with a pair of Bridgestones under me I feel safe and know that corners are taken care of, as to my chain the Scottoiler takes care of it. the scottoiler that has a lot of plastic parts to it :p
I have an R6. My first big bike had a Scottoiler. I took it off so I would get used to chain maintenance. Been looking at changing the R6 for a more sit up and beg bike (as we call them). Just finding the ride position a bit cramped these days.

Last time I lubed the gearbox, I used Squirt, a bicycle chain lube that is wax based.
http://www.squirtlube.com
To apply, I ran the gearbox slowly as I placed lube on the gears. I then let it dry before playing with the tank.
I have no idea if it resulted to any improvement as I'm still new to this hobby.

It is supprising just how alike a Heng Long tank and my Harley are. Constantly needing attention, never finished and doesn't go when you want it to!
At least I don't ride/drive a Goldwing!!!
