Hello iposter
Good to hear from you,I do appreciate your feedback.
I can not possibly answer some of your points as I really do not know enough about the subject?
Re price well you are almost correct, and even if it were 30000 nok I would still be going for one
I spent half that amount on 1 x Gauge 1 Loco which I am currently selling.
if I can find the Norwegian Tank chap I will, and have a chat with him.
In addition, and no offence to mark 1, but I dont think they are top of the range. If you are not into constant maintenance then I doubt very much that you are going to be able to get the best out of a Mark 1.
and I certainly will not enter in to anything remotely controversial, because you end up invariably in those unpleasant Forum Style spats that I hate! with regards to Mark 1 tanks I am still learning but to date you are the first(that I have read) who as cast doubt on the reliability of Alex`s/Marks Tanks.

best wishes Steve

 Hello iposter!

I am in a kind of trance ,don`t know what to feel, certainly shock,& surprise :O I followed your earlier suggestion and run a Google search I have also followed your links! and do not know what to think?

I really must thank you for drawing my attention to this issue,as we are talking a lot of money either way,to buy one of these Big Tanks.

I suppose as a prospective buyer what I most want is the truth, not always achievable I know,But now i will exert great caution before buying anything.I am not a rich man my wife supports me totally,it is only because I am hoping for a payout from UK government that I can even begin to contemplate paying such high sums for anything!

Where if anywhere do I find the whole truth re these Manufacturers,I am already greatly dissapointed by the VANTEX offerings, but I actually read a few moments ago that even they were better quality than other 1/6th Manufacturers??

Is their anyone out there with a step back unbiased viewpoint on all this,I hope so because I am now so dissapointed,i will need a lot of convincing to buy any of these Big Tanks.

Reagrds Steve !!!

The allegations seem to have being some time ago,I did not notice all the dates but 2 years at least?
I would really value some unbiased assistance.Mark at Mark 1 as being helpful, but a novice I am and I would feel a whole lot better with some expert feedback on the current situation, and take it from there.

I had posted before on the subject of grtting into big scale. I expressed my opinions before on Mark I v other makes. 1/8 scale would be a great size if you had the option to get accessories ect. 1/6 scale is easy. Lots of choice. If you have space, go for I/6. Tigers can be a heavy beast but consider possibly something like a Panzer iii or iv. I am an armortek collector. I am happy with the quality and can produce most of the parts for upgrade myself. They can be expensive but I have found some bargains. Hence 3 tigers in my shed at present. I have worked on a mark 1 for a friend before and can only describe it as rough. I would be disappointed spending so much on a plastic tank. For me the fun is in the building. Little time to drive them.

Hello John

Really good to hear from you.I for one appreciate your input & feedback it`s crucial I get this right, and whilst I may not like all I hear and read, their is no denying the warnings/cautions you and others outline are valid and as such I will be now very careful!

I will not comment in a public forum,on individuals, but some of my communications I have thus far had on the subject of Large Scale Tanks,as made me feel a little uneasy? so now I do not know what to do?
God this is supposed to be an all engrossing hobby IE "FUN"! I thought it was anyway...

Folk, like you John who have the skills to do most of the work your selves are very lucky,i envy you
but regrettably for folk like me,we do not have those skills nor the ability to contemplate building RC Tanks in any scale.
I can hear some of you say, well if that's the case take up stamp collecting or something similar more within your capabilities, and their is a certain amount of truth in that.Suppose I am making one last big push before its to late?
to find something that bit more exciting!

I for one hope I can find a way to go Large Scale RC tanking? if not then at least I tried.I am loathed to go down the 1:16 Route, they do nothing for me.

anyway thats my thoughts

all the best Steve

Hello iposter

You may well be right in everything you say,but please remember I am very new to all this and really only beginning to learn what is involved. If I don't ask I will not learn.I know that large scale tanks are mainly for guys like you,but that does not stop me hoping their maybe some way to make this happen? if not then so be it,I will go and collect stamps (again)
When I refereed to the >Fun aspect,it was aimed at the negative stuff, not all of it on this forum but I have read some not to pleasant comments relating to certain folk and companies, always leaves a sour taste.
Many thanks for the suggestion of ArmourGuy I will seek him out.

all the best & HAPPY Modelling

Hello
Many thanks have seen it, saved it.and dismissed it,not interested in stuff off ebay!now that could be financial suicide
I would need guarantees before I purchased anything from ebay or similar

You are commenting as though I already know a lot about the subject,I dont so am still learning,I may well be more than willing to use a screwdriver who knows?
