After seeing Max's video tank I was all fired up to have ago myself. The plan was to buy a 'cheap' lower hull and fit a scratch built upper hull and GoPro turret, nothing fancy. The prices are just prohibitive at the moment. For example on Ebay tonight - Lower Tiger 1 hull £58.95 (no electrics but does have speaker and smoke unit, No tracks).

However, I did find an unused, full functional, returned to seller Panther G for £42. These days that's rare. Looks like I'll be using that as a base.

Max, you are a bad influence!

My tally now stands at 4 Tiger 1s, 1 Panzer 3, 1 Challenger 2, a £10 Ebay bargin Bulldog and now a Panther! How did I get to this?!!!!!!

This is exactly what I'm talking about. I just gave a guy a complete jagdpanther lower hull (HL) with plastic tracks totally for free. I was going to send it with nylon gears completely free of charge, but the man said he'd take the steel gearboxes for $20 and TG electronics (MFU/TX) for another $45, but the point is I was willing to send just the lower hull with nylon gears and plastic tracks for free, and I even paid for the postage. Since he's here in the US it was only about $12 to mail it to him so that wasn't bad, but I could never do something like that for one of my British Buds because I just can't afford $60 and up to send a parcel. For something like a plastic lower it just ain't worth it, since you could get one there for about that much. I'd gladly donate parts for DRC's project because it sounds really cool, but I can't bring myself to get bent over by the postal people!! They won't even kiss you first!!

And speaking of high priced tanks, can anyone explain to me why this guy is asking so much for this tank? I'm not being a smart ass, I really can't figure this one out. I don't want to cry "Crook" but that's a LOT. I have a Mato all metal PzIII (same lower hull) and it was only about 1/3 what he's asking for this Stug, which isn't much more than a PzIII from Mato.

By the way, I like that screen name, DRC, because over here that stands for Detroit Race Course, a very famous horse racing outfit.

You know, DRC, since you already have a Tiger you could just do a set up like the one I did with my Mobius. Is that the video you mentioned? That rig will set right down on ANY tiger and you can drive it away, and it was super easy to build. And it requires NO modifications to the tank and doesn't do ANY damage to the turret. If that's not the video you meant I can post a link to how I built the Mobius rig. I use goggles with it but I don't see any reason you couldn't use a regular screen or an ipad.

To me Priced vary.....A " for instance" is .............With the coming of the Chally...........the Prices of the M1 Abrams has dropped....I've also seen some great deals go by in 1/35th....With that said though....I've seen a drastic lack of attention by sellers on EBAY...like they don't care HOW you get an item  ....WHEN you get an item
It is definitely the downside to the Hobby

I just tried to help a tanker in the UK. I shipped him some bushings, cost me $13.50 US which I did not pass on to him, why should I. But now the package is bouncing back and forth between my local PO location and the distribution center. I don't know if he will ever get it. My point, postal rates are UP, and service is DOWN.

Or someone who was told to "sell that tank" by a loved one. So he put a price so high on the tank knowing it would never sell and he'll get to keep it. :haha:

Now that sounds like a reasonable possibility. "But Honey, if I sell it for a penny less we'll be losing money!". @)

just look at the price of the newer taigen and torro tanks, The taigen Sherman is almost the price of a Tamiya Sherman and the price of the torro Jagdtiger and king tiger is HIGHER then some of the Tamiyas. You can get a Sherman, tiger 1, king tiger or a pershing for less. I would love to get a jagdtiger but my money will go towards another Tamiya I'm afraid. I have nothing against the Taigen/Torro tanks as I do own lots of them but if they are going to charge Tamiya prices they should at least have the proper electronics in them. I just hope that Tamiya doesn't look at this and use it as an excuse to jack up the price of their tanks! 8O
