The great thing about the steel gearboxes is that the gears are tough enough to take the additional load, on the elefant they're 5 shaft rather than 4 shaft. Tamiya were different as they don't have the strength in them to take the extra torque. I do really like the Pershing out drives, and I'm sure I've seen them used on a Tamiya tiger to great effect. The issue on the elefant was the tolerances weren't tight enough and eventually the gears stopped meshing properly. The new gear boxes were much better however

I will have to ask Greg which boxes are in there, hopefully they are the upgraded ones. A Tamiya tiger with the out drives would be sweet! I left my Tammy tiger stock but I do need to get the metal elevation arm for it
