As stated above but this is what I did..... upgrade the battery (I'm running a 7600mah lipo), IBU2 board, 4.1 MKIII hardened steel gearboxes, JP480 high torque motors, all metal running gear, my KT is almost 20lbs and will do 360 spins in grass deeper then it is tall till it rips all the grass out!

Those are impressive figures Mr Jack, it sure must be a genuine beast. The scale route march you took it on was a winner for me.

If you KT spins like a grass mower, I think it is out of scale. In fact, even modern tanks with powerful engine today won't spin like that. I think the control board should control the spinning speed so that it would scaled correctly. Just got a 4.1 gearbox today, do not have time to test it outdoor yet.

I don't think speed of spin was mentioned. Pivot turns on grass huge strain on all elements of the running gear, you need a well engineered tank to do this!

Ok done some more tests and in a straight line fine although I can hear it struggling a bit , it's really hard to turn . I'm wondering when turning does 1 track lock or free wheel ? As one track driving is not enough power to turn it ... its fine on hard surfaces . Seems to me that the motors are just not powerful enough I have put a 2000 ma batt in there and it's just the same .both tanks are heng long pros , metal tracks and gearboxes .... I will get a battery of 7.2 v and even if it doesn't fit in the battery compartment I'll strap it to the back . Then it looks like I have underpowered tanks . Thanks for all your help and suggestions. I have read them all

This is true! I had to custom build an internal metal frame in my Pershing, because the torque from turning the heavy thing in grass would flex the hull and make the tracks jump off of the idlers.

I thought as soon as I bought them just before xmas , what good is a tank that can't go round a muddy lawn ... Will have to get to the bottom of this then I'll get the tools out and do what needs to be done .
I bought these mail order so had no way of load testing them alpha .

All but eight of mine were Mail order....the eight were old models restored ....got those when a local store closed down...they were all defects in a junk box...Took a PanTiger Hull to restore my Tiger as it's original hull was too brittle from being in a window display...all the internals were stock...and I just transferred them over...the only test I did was to check the response from the TX to RX ....that's it...any load testing was from running ...and did I run it lol
I don't know if it's a freak ....it does have red headlamps from the factory ....but that sucker is fast...the gearboxes even though they are the stock plastic versions pull and pull and pull....the stock motors are still strong ...it's one of the fastest tanks I have that can go over my torture test

I wish I could do more to help you sort out your tank Blue...but this kind of trouble shooting is a little hard ...it's something better done with tank in hand if you get my meaning
The one thing I might suggest is you go over the entire drive train ...don't just focus on the motors and gears...also check the wheels and Idlers...make sure they are spinning free...any stickyness is best solves using some fine grit sandpaper and smoothing out any rough spots where the wheels meet the axles ...some automotive polish after that action will help as well....lube would just gum up

PS. If you do use auto polish on your axles...make sure not to get the polish where you might paint later...it will hinder the paint from sticking to the surface

I am hoping to close this now with a lesson learned , after reading all your comments and talking to who I got the tanks from , and mr forgebear (cheers mate) the problem may lie in the fact I bought the pro version, metal tracks and gears . It seems the basic version being lighter would have been better across lawns . Ok decision time , option 1 patio my entire lawn ? Or option 2 buy all the gear suggested and uprate my tanks ?
I can see myself spending some money with mr forgebear who was very helpful.
