I'm never unarmed Ed, NEVER. That and at 6'4" 250 lbs I'll mug the mugger.

Not allowed to be armed here.....but im fully trained to deal with any situation that may occur. .i learnt it from monty python. ..run away.....or with my back...limp away

Knives are still legal on your island right? Yeah I have 3 on me at all times.

Interesting logic Jack....now...if the tables where warped even more...would that mean if you were 1/16th scale....you would have walked 96 miles ....

Tim, it was overcast and cloudy the RAF was grounded and I brought plenty of fuel with me, 3 5800mah 2 cell lipo batteries! Used 2 of them and started on the 3rd when almost back to the car. Also used half a small bottle of mega steam and 38 bb's and 12 drops of crazy glue to fix the track pins.


Alpha, 6 miles for a 1/1 scale tank would be six miles. 6 miles for a 1/16 scale tank is equal to 96.


Does anyone know if the metal Taigen tracks stretch? I'm thinking I may need to replace mine.

The typhoon killing tanks is a bit of a myth, however the typhoons are more likely to have killed the supporting soft skins, then you break down or run out of fuel. To properly simulate the king tigers mechanical frailties you could run the nylon or zinc gears and try again

Hi now you have the ice cleats worn it will drive much better on grass, so repair and keep them . Yes they do stretch but this to has its advantage being worn they don't jump the sprocket or rear idler the same, so all the more reason to keep them.

Just for reference what battery are you using to get such a good run time from a big tank also which board and motors.

The batteries are Traxxas 5800mah 2 cell hard case lipo batteries. I took 3 of them with me, the first running mostly on dirt trails and down hill lasted just over 2 hours. The second had to deal with up some steep hills, and 2 sections of the trail that the dirt turned to some serious rocks...boulders for the KT. It held on for an hour and a half of some serious rock crawling. The third battery was up hill all the way back to the car but back on a nice dirt path and still had enough power to make the video I posted up and still wasn't dead.

Board is the IBU2 with motor amps set to 15.
Motors are JP400's in 4.1 black hardened steel gearboxes with full bearings. Also have output shafts bearings under the transmission covers. Idler arm tensioners are the new thicker ones from Taigen.

Any other details anyone like to know please don't hesitate to ask.

Hi Ian will be pleased that the board performed this well. You will have less resistance from the tracks now they have worn . If it is running this well I wouldn't change anything , just service the tracks and glue the pins .
