Going to try these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111292371598? ... EBIDX%3AIT

The tank isn't that heavy and I won't be putting metal tracks on it.
Yeah I have a set of those...they looked pretty good when I saw them on EBAY....have them sitting at the moment ...but the plan is to put them in a 1/35th scale tank.... ;) ...Maybe even the 38t should I get around to it lol

Woz, that's the same gear box I'm planning to use in my 251 build. If you wouldn't mind could you post some pics of it built and possibly some measurements please?

Just put them together and its a perfect fit (even room for a good battery)

Sizes-

The output shafts are 3mm diameter and are a bit flimsy so I'm printing some brackets with bearings.

A + B are the high speed outputs (the centre is 3.5mm from the end).
C Low speed output (apporx 17mm from the end).

Bit more done-

Clamps with bearings to give the drive shafts more support

Sprocket and idlers done
Image

21 links wrapped around the sprocket perfectly so that's a good start on the tracks-
