I've recently purchased two Panther G's. One from rctank.de with the metal hull. I was very happy with it upon arrival and now that it is sporting an IBU2, it runs like a dream. Probably my favorite tank now. The other purchase was the Tamiya Panther G. It's under construction but getting ready for a trial run maybe by Thursday.

Hey, I have one of those RCTank.de Panthers, you are right, they run as smooth as silk.

I am still wondering if any manufacturer will ever produce any British tank? The Challenger has disappeared, presumablly until HL have their new factory up and running, but there are so many that I would like to see. I guess market research has deduced that they have larger markets for US & Russian armour? Oh well...back to the plasticard.... :|

I am inclined to believe that the likes of HENG LONG et al have no idea what they are missing in not producing British armour.
I remember the surprise expressed by CHRIS when he presented his Centurian plans and early build with the intention of making them for a limited production run. :O
He received so much positive reaction that as he said no previous build had produced.
Obviously there must be a large financial commitment by HENG LONG/TAIGEN/TORRO before mass producing a new model which tends to prevent going down a new path when merely breathing fresh life into a proven product will keep the cash coming in.
The world has too many Tiger and Sherman variants and far to many accountants and not enough entrepeneurs .
when you consider how many different nations bought the Centurian in its many guises, the market for upgrades let alone Tanks would generate a hefty income for any manufacturer with just this British type.

Hell, it took more than ten years - more than 20?!? - for a company to produce a new mold Chieftain kit in 1/35. Before it was only Tamiya which you had to accurize with lots of scratchbuilding or buying of aftermarket parts from Accurate Armour to produce something close to the real thing. And IIRC not even Trumpeter touched that subject.

I really wish HL would pursue with the Challenger 2. I *really need* it for my NATO line up.

I think 1/16 now is like where 1/35 used to be - lots of German and US WW2 subjects and not much British or modern stuff.
