Ahh I see. Thanks for telling me. I just got curious. I thought it was the other forum
Anyway - now I have a genuine question - that Tiger tank (131 I'm guessing) with the damage under the main gun.. (2nd pic) is that a genuine war damage?

That damage is the reason that the crew abandoned 131 because it temporarily jammed the Turret, the crew being new to the Tiger 1 were fearful that the Tank was u/s and made the Allies a present of a totally serviceable Tiger 1.
There are photograph's of HM George 6 and the Prime Minister Winston Churchill peering in to the cupola,
The War office made an assessment of 131 and admitted it was the best MBT in service anywhere.

Even though the Allies knew that the Tiger was the best MBT available at the time, Churchill said on more than one occasion that the only thing he ever truly feared during WWII was the U Boats.

I believe the deck under the gun was seriously bent after the hit. I imagine some injuries to crew. Even in a Tiger I guess being a sitting duck with a jammed turret and gun can be a bit scary. I wonder did the crew actually escape?
