You misunderstand what the cable will be used for.
The cable will act as an extension to the existing JST between the Hull and the control board not as a cable to charge the in situ LI-PO, Because the cable is marketed as a LI-PO charger cable that does not mean I cannot use it for something else.
I would never charge a LI-PO without it being in a LI-PO safe bag off the Tank.
What I want is enough room between the body and the Hull to get the battery in/out without having to disconnect cables from the control board. shaun

ROB, The cables arrived first thing this morning as promised,
They are BRILLIANT
I have one question, why didn't I do this before?? :haha:
I can now take off the Tank body/Turret and place it beside the hull with everything still connected and nothing likely to get damaged. I can check everything is working whilst the Tank is apart.
A brilliant aid for trouble shooting.
All parts of the hull are easy to reach.
Someone asked what about the danger of the cable getting caught in the Gears?
I fit removable bulkheads to all my Tanks which keeps lubricant away from the rest of the hull and It now also appears to keep the extra length cable out of the Gearboxes.
This is a must have and all for £5.50 for 2 cables.
And I owe you for finding the dealer, Thank you Sir.   shaun

No worries, and glad they worked. Any chance you can post some pics of the internal bulkheads? I'll need to fit them to the KV's.

Man that sucks you gotta order them, I have 3 electronic stores within 15 min drive of me that carry that kind of stuff in stock. In fact that's how I made my amp relocation wire harness for my IBU2 in my King Tiger

Rob, The Bulkheads are made out of scrap bits that we all have lying around,
I used two pieces of plastic channel from a Panzer 4 aeriel trough,
I glued one piece of channel on one side of the Hull and the other exactly opposite behind the gearboxes,
Then I cut a piece of 3mm plasti-card wide enough to fit across the hull and in the channels and finished by cutting a small hole in the middle of the card to take the gearbox cables & plugs and slid the card in place.
DO NOT GLUE THE CARD IN PLACE!!!
It has taken longer to write this than it did to make the bulkhead! :haha: shaun

Makes sense - cheers. Suspect I'll use milk carton and do it properly later.

I have had feelings of guilt about this idea of mine because whilst I knew all along that the sockets in the control board and the body were both "8 pin MALE" and that the extension cables were "8 pin MALE/ FEMALE", I am wondering if people have bought the extension cable and have been calling me a rude word ever since, :O
Not realising that you plug the "8 pin male" of the new cable into the "8 pin female" of the old cable and you now have a "FEMALE to FEMALE EXTENSION CABLE"!! :haha:
Perhaps now I can sleep? :lolno:

No, not been calling you rude words over that. Other things maybe..... Think I got male-female, but even if people didn't at 30cm it's plenty long enough to get the hull top off.
