That is a great idea! It would really make driving them through mud and light water not so nerve racking!
Yuppers! If I hadn't built it that way I wouldn't take it in the water or mud like I do. I'll post some internal pics as soon as I get things tidied up inside a bit more.

I still have it and it still runs, though it's been shelved for about a year and a half. I had started rebuilding it with even more detail but never finished it. No pictures of the interior exist that I can remember.
If I ever get it back together I'll get some interior shots for you.

I saw your vid on Youtube and love it. You must have waterproof it before driving it across the river, right? That's question I'm concerning about. I never mean to submerge the whole tank into water but just some level of mudding and water. I came across a few idea from here and from other places. Some make an open top box for shallow water, some make closed box which can be submersible. And recently I saw a Korean guy who uses silicon to waterproof Heng Long's electric. The last idea seems easy to do but he doesn't tell if he waterproof the batter and the on/off switch.

It's only waterproof to the extent of the electronics are in an open top box that clears the upper hull by only a few mm. It never went in the water deeper then the middle of the drive sprockets for fear of frying the board. I could have built a 100% sealed box but was worried about heat from the IBU2 board causing overheating problems.
