Tom,
I'm about to lay down serious cash for a Tamiya Tiger 1 kit later this year. What's up with the chassis now? I've heard nothing but roses and swans about the manufacturer up until this.

The tiger and the other tamiyas I've had are fine, the IS2 hull front where the idlers attach is very flexible and mine bent just using plastic tracks. So don't worry, Tigers fine!

Tom,
Thanks for the assurance. That's why I sold the Taigen Kit, to finally build a large scale RC Tamiya tank. The Taigen kit was nice but it needed the same corrections and add-ons as the pre-assembled Taigen Tiger 1 does. I changed my mind and went in the other direction.

Hi Kiaser, the idler issues were fixed with the hentec adjuster. I had to add a fair bit of lead in the back of the turret to counter balance the massive barrel.

Been a long time since I made progress on this but got my ammo modulation set through so time to get cracking.

First was a coat of Tamiya fine surface primer to all the photo etch and metal parts. Then a base coat of gunship grey to serve as the metal coat.

Next after it had cured a coat of hairspray ready for the 4bo base.

The mig set has four colours, dark base, base, light base and highlights.

Dark base:

After this I added some of the dark base as streaks and post shading.

Final result with chipping

That's all for now

That's perfect, the shading looks great!

Something I was I could have done on my Pershing, but with it being already painted I just got stuck into weathering!
